Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics and Data Science

Your tasks and responsibilities

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics and Data Science, are to:

 

  • Develop and maintain relevant content knowledge and experience of use in analyses and subsequent operational follow-up;
  • Provide strategic consulting to senior management and participates in the strategic and business planning processes, as appropriate;
  • Lead design, development and maintenance of analytic models and tools;
  • Build diagnostic and predictive models using first and third party data, tests model results and verify model performance;
  • Process and apply rigorous feature engineering and iterative analytics on raw data;
  • Quantify significance of data variances, applies an array of statistical methods ranging from traditional to newly-developing within the Big-Data space;
  • Apply best practices in big data engineering for the scalability and efficiency of software;
  • Visualize data and synthesizes insights of commercial value;
  • Advise business partners with regards to patterns and relationships in data to recommend business direction or outcomes;
  • Contributes to IP on data analytics and visualization concepts, methods, and techniques;
  • Partner with Business Unit leaders, brand management and brand market researchers to ensure that the models reflect a current and comprehensive knowledge of each brand’s strategic direction and activation plans. Ensure that results reflect thorough understanding of brand issues and inform brand revenue management and investment decisions;
  • Partner with Advanced Analytics team members, IMS and media agency to ensure that model results appropriately inform annual plans and interim plan adjustments. Solicit feedback on the models in terms of satisfaction and desired enhancements and work with vendor to explore potential to address such needs;
  • Build strong working relationships with Business Unit colleagues;
  • Engage effectively with other Strategy & Portfolio Management colleagues;
  • Understand Advanced Analytics approaches in other businesses;
  • Seek professional development on new approaches.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Advanced college degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics and/or Computer Science or Ph.D. in related fields;
  • At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience within business analytics, business consulting or a related field preferably in CPG/OTC, Pharma, Financial Services and/or digital verticals;
  • Proficient in one or more of the following: Spark, NoSQL, Python, SAS, SPSS, Matlab, Tableau;
  • Well versed in diverse quantitative/statistical techniques;
  • Motivation to collaborate with a diverse, innovative team;
  • Previous experience in developing and maintaining complex analytical solutions;
  • Previous experience working with analytics platforms, pricing, revenue management, business intelligence dashboards, and data enrichment techniques;
  • Competencies: Drives for results, Bias for action, strong communication, decision-making, interpersonal skills, problem solving, practical judgment, leadership, teamwork.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Data Analytics, Machine Learning, or Business Analyst nanodegree.
