Senior Engineer Facilities

Your tasks and responsibilities

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Engineer Facilities, are to: 

 

  • Create PM / Calibration maintenance plans and task lists for the buildings they support;
  • Provide building shutdown support;
  • Perform / oversee improvement projects, troubleshoot issues, safety reviews, ensure proper maintenance, and general facility ownership to make sure that the facilities are well managed and maintained allowing the facility users to operate unencumbered; 
  • Remain current and compliant using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for all equipment including work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.  Be audit ready;
  • Create and manage GMP reports such as DR’s, CAPA’s and CA’s;
  • Work proficiently in EDMS;
  • Communicate with a wide customer base, routinely assess customer satisfaction through surveys and one-on-one interactions; 
  • Interface routinely with the Maintenance organization;
  • Contractor management as needed to performed TSO duties; 
  • Seek to continually challenge the status quo, allow for process improvements in efficiencies, strive for standard work optimization.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • B.S. in Engineering or similar degree plus industrial experience;
  • B.S. with six or more years of experience; OR
  • M.S. with two or more years of experience in facilities engineering, project management, and/or facilities management role supporting a large laboratory, R&D, or manufacturing campus; 
  • Experience in a GMP / GLP environment;
  • Proven experience in the successful development and execution of Capital Projects, delivering on time and on budget; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical and biotech production processes as well as understanding of cGMP requirements, rules, and regulations;
  • Knowledge of GMP requirements with awareness to be able to guide the project requirements and manage stakeholder expectations in terms of cost, schedule, and quality;
  • Demonstrated skills in managing projects to bring in on budget, on schedule, and technically correct;
  • Capable of adapting and managing in different technologies;
  • Extensive knowledge facilities technical systems.  Specifically design, maintenance, and operation of facilities, building automation systems, maintenance equipment and systems, equipment reliability, instrument calibrations, industrial safety and electrical distribution;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diverse groups of individuals, experience levels, and disciplines;
  • Understanding of Root Cause Analysis;
  • Ability to organize and motivate staff towards common objectives by conveying a sense of leadership and vision. Usually involves management of cross functional teams or significant resources;
  • Demonstrated skills in managing projects to bring in on budget, on schedule, and technically correct;
  • Establish guidelines for continuous risk reduction.
