Research and Clinical Statistician

Your tasks and responsibilities

Bayer U.S. LLC seeks a Research and Clinical Statistician to work in Whippany, NJ, to ensure the use of efficient methods of statistical analysis to support the development and submission of Bayer products according to both global and regional standards as well as regulatory guidelines.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values.  More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Must have a master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Statistics, Math or related field plus one (1) year of experience in a related position performing statistical analysis for a research or pharmaceutical organization;

 

Must have any experience with or any knowledge of:

 

  • theoretical and applied statistics, e.g., design of experiments, generalized linear models, categorical data analysis, survival analysis, measurement error models, data mining, Bayesian statistics, machine learning, computational biology and statistical simulation techniques;

  • chemistry and biology; clinical trials, drug development and medical ontologies; Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH);

  • how to work with statistical topics, e.g., subgroup analysis, interim analysis, crossover design, randomization, Bayesian network analysis, and multiplicity;

  • statistical programming software/languages (including SAS, R, MATLAB and Excel); simulation in R; SAS Base and SAS Stat as well as data step skills; SAS programming certification(s);

  • how to explain complex statistics in the context of experimental objectives to those with little or no background in paper or presentations;

  • how to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously;

  • how to function independently and collaboratively on interdisciplinary project teams; and

  • how to perform literature reviews to identify and understand relevant scientific literature and apply knowledge gained from these sources.

Must have at least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
