Global Medical Affairs Physician MD -Oncology

Your tasks and responsibilities


The primary responsibilities of this role, Global Medical Affairs Physician MD -Oncology, are to: 


  • Provide the medical strategy for the global medical affairs study program;
  • Plan and coordinates the design, conduct, analysis, reporting and publication of oncology global medical affairs studies;
  • Provide strategic review of oncology and post marketing studies;
  • Ensure all regional studies are consistent with agreed global medical strategy;
  • Provide medical expertise and insight on commercial issues through membership of the oncology global brand teams;
  • Plan and conducts scientific advisory boards with key thought leaders and external customers;
  • Represent Bayer viewpoint on products to key opinion leaders, scientific advisors, health authorities and to other external stakeholders;
  • Provide medical affairs input to global clinical development programs;
  • Provide medical probability of success and feasibility assessments to global marketing colleagues in relation to Bayer oncology products;
  • Provide medical review of promotional material from the GBT for global use e.g. product monographs, brochures, press releases, Q&A’s, field communications;
  • Lead medical affairs activity connected to the gbt scientific publication process, global ktl development programs and global medical congress activity;
  • Provide medical affairs input to core labeling and pharmacovigilance documents for marketed products (e.g. risk management plans and benefit analysis for risk-benefit assessments);
  • Establish and lead medical affairs matrix teams for global brands in oncology .

Required Qualifications:


  • Medical doctor (physician) with advanced post graduate medical training/experience;
  • A minimum of 3-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in either clinical development and/or medical affairs function of a global healthcare organization;
  • In depth knowledge of the oncology field;
  • Understanding of drug development process over different stages;
  • Experience of developing and delivering presentations and publications in English;
  • Very strong written and oral English communication skills;
  • A strong global mindset;
  • Understanding of global regulations and guidelines;
  • Experience of effectively managing risk and compliance issues;
  • Experience of managing teams across cultures and  geographies;
  • Experience of participating in cross-functional teams;
  • Experience of working across and building effective working relationships between functions;
  • Proven record of relationship building, both internally and externally to the organization;
  • Great oral presentation skills.
