Experimental Immunology- ImmunoOncology Intern

Your tasks and responsibilities


The primary responsibilities of this role, Experimental Immunology- ImmunoOncology Intern, are to: 


  • Define fundamental scientific question to answer;
  • Develop research strategy with clearly defined experimental plans;
  • Gain proficiency in technology platforms to use;
  • Execute on the experimental plans;
  • Analyze and summarize results;
  • Adjust strategy if data warrants experiment changes or new line of investigation;
  • Necessary skills are basic biology lab skills (eg. Pipetting, microscopy, preparation of solutions, etc);
  • Tissue culture experience or knowledge of aseptic techniques required;
  • Competence with biochemical and cell based assays are major plusses;
  • Familiarity with flow cytometry, microplate reader, and RTCA instruments are also very helpful.

Required Qualifications:


  • Currently enrolled in sophomore year or higher pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to deal professionally with internal customers of various organizational levels;
  • Ability to work effectively within a departmental team and with members of the same or higher organizational levels;
  • Good organization, documentation, prioritization and scheduling skills together with an overall desire to learn;
  • Basic problem solving and project management abilities together with a professional image;
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task;
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office with beginner level proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Demonstrated potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, and collaboration with others and independent thought;


Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Program major or focus area of Cell Biology, Immunology, or Biochemistry.
