Deputy Director - Health Policy and Advocacy-LATAM Region

Your tasks and responsibilities

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Deputy Director - Health Policy and Advocacy – LATAM Region, are to: 

 

  • Foster the creation, maintenance and increment of relationships with main stakeholders from public & private Health Institutions in each country;
  • Develop regional concepts for health programs for Governments in order to facilitate/obtain access for our new products by providing credibility, building a disease profile and advocating for access to the best treatment aligned with Government priorities;
  • Work proactively with the support of local country organizations with Chambers / Congresses / Health Ministers to improve a receptive pharmaceutical environment for our innovative portfolio;
  • Design and coordinate with local country teams Regional Advocacy Activities;
  • Lead the developing and implementation of a CRM system for stakeholders at Local and Regional Level;
  • Create and follow up Integrated Stakeholder Engagement plans aligned with MWB’s objectives in order to foster a receptive Access Environment in LATAM;
  • Coordinate execution at local level with the local HP&Advocacy Head;
  • Foster the creation of LATAM Patient Associations networking (content in Compliance Policy), becoming their main interlocutor to facilitate a commonality in advocacy strategies in the region;
  • Collaborate with Region America & Global Health Policy teams in order to implement priority strategies, and by reporting all new advances developed for new launches;
  • Coordinate, evaluate and follow-up Country Briefings Reports, ensuring a bi-monthly update.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values.  More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in health care or science; MBA, Pharm D, or MD preferred;
  • At least 4 years’ experience in at least 2 of the following areas: Health Systems, Health Policy, Pricing & Reimbursement;
  • Solid experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in Payer Negotiation and Advocacy, and/or proven experience in Government and Institutional affairs, managing public relations;
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of pharmaceutical products and services, as well as knowledge of Health Systems in Latin American market (in specific Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina) as regards to its pricing & reimbursement processes and regulations;
  • Familiarity with marketing to health professionals and deep knowledge of Health Economics, Global Health Policy situation and PharmaCo political situation/trends in LATAM;
  • Ability to translate policies in commercial strategies or activities;
  • Must have experience in leading cross-functional teams;
  • Creativity and strategic insight  to develop and implement innovative solutions;
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Fluency in Portuguese.
