Biomarker & Data Insights Statistician

Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role,Biomarker & Data Insights Statistician, are to:

 

  • Collaborates with representatives from other functions to plan, execute and analyze all biomarker aspects (including genomics and data directly obtained from sensors) of clinical studies or biomarker studies in the role of the biomarker statistician;
  • Develops the Biomarker Evaluation Plan for the study as appropriate;
  • Facilitates the overall organization and coordination of statistical activities regarding biomarker research and development activities for specific studies;
  • Facilitates and/or conducts advanced data analysis utilizing all types of structured and unstructured data generated within clinical trials;
  • Furthermore designs moderately complex analysis algorithms based on e.g. Machine Learning / AI methodology;
  • This includes the analyses of data obtained directly from sensors/ wearables and other complex high dimensional data sources;
  • Assumes responsibility for the production and accuracy of the Biomarker Evaluation Report with respect to statistical deliverables and interpretation of the results;
  • Works independently at routine and medium complex statistical questions and tasks;
  • Implements standard processes for the analysis of routine (parts of) biomarker assessments;
  • Oversees and ensures accurate and timely delivery of statistical work outsourced to external providers;
  • Biomarker research is now essential in (personalized) drug development, and is increasingly sought after during the approval process by the FDA and EMA;
  • This entails the design and analysis of all biomarker aspects in clinical trials (including companion diagnostics and inclusion of devices in the drug development process) and the writing of statistical reports to be submitted to authorities as a crucial part of our New Drug Application (NDA) for each product.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • PhD or MSc in Biostatistics, Statistics or Mathematics, or related field;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, as required;
  • Good knowledge of statistical programming languages (including SAS and R);
  • Basic knowledge of relevant R packages for analysis of highdimensional data;
  • Fluent English skills
