Biological Development Intern

Your tasks and responsibilities


The primary responsibilities of this role, Biological Development Intern, are to: 


  • Participate in team-based discussions/meetings;
  • Plan and conduct formulation and process development experiments;
  • Analyze samples using proper methods, or procedures;
  • Interpret established procedures, processes, systems and results;
  • Troubleshoot experimental failures, or abnormal results;
  • Exercise technical judgment to solve a variety of scientific problems;
  • Develop proper experimental approaches to overcome obstacles;
  • Document the experimental procedures and results in laboratory notebooks;
  • Summarize scientific or technical findings in a Bayer internal report;
  • Communicate effectively any complex scientific or technical findings;
  • Assist in other departmental activities, as needed.

Required Qualifications:


  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program in Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biological engineering;
  • A strong desire to learn and drive independently, and to achieve scientific excellence;
  • Ability to execute, analyze, and interpret experiments, and systems;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work as team member within and outside the Formulations and Device Management Department;
  • Basic problem-solving and task-managing abilities;
  • Good skills in organization, documentation, prioritization and planning;
  • Basic computer skills with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Preferred major or specialty area: Pharmaceuticals, protein formulation, protein characterization, use of biophysical tools.
