Automation Support Engineer Co-Op

Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Automation Support Engineer Co-op, are to: 

  • Utilize machine data to determine opportunities for improvement in data capture, reliability, performance and cost effectiveness;
  • Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and field data to recommend and justify improvements;
  • Identify opportunities to attain lowest life cycle cost on equipment design, prototype and test changes to target specific opportunities for improvement in our custom field equipment fleet (planters, sprayers, combines, UAVs);
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and develop cost effective equipment/systems-corrective actions.

Required Qualifications:


  • Current enrollment at an accredited university located in the U.S. pursuing a Bachelor’s in an engineering discipline (i.e. mechanical, electrical, agricultural, industrial, etc.);
  • Undergraduate academic standing of Sophomore or above;
  • Availability to take the fall semester off (June—December of 2020) to work in a full-time capacity in St. Louis, MO;
  • Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams;
  • Interest in gaining ‘hands-on’ experience with machinery with guided direction by technicians and engineers
  • Demonstrated problem solving, planning and time management skills;
  • Proficient computer skills related to design and data analysis;


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completed coursework in machine design, product design and engineering management.
