Associate Engineer

Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Associate Engineer, are to: 

 

  • Work with senior staff to develop and maintain electronic circuitry and/or embedded software;
  • Support development of one design element at a time;
  • Continue development of technical skills;
  • Participate in design reviews;
  • Develop prototypes and final design;
  • Perform characterization and verification testing of designs;
  • Document design efforts and writes reports;
  • Performs sustaining engineering for existing designs;
  • Receive clearly defined objectives and instruction from a more experienced lead engineer or supervisor;
  • Accurately follow directions;
  • Accumulates information (does not consult);
  • Contact and gather information from suppliers;
  • Communicate work activities effectively.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field;
  • Academic understanding of engineering/scientific principles;
  • Course work in electronics and/or software development;
  • Academic or work experience designing electronic circuitry and/or developing embedded software;
  • Experience with basic electronic test tools and/or software development tools (0-2 years);
  • Working knowledge of PC computer operating system including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).  
      

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Awareness of other technical disciplines.
