Recognizing that individuals have different needs, we offer four medical plan options to all US employees; an HMO option may also be available in certain geographic areas. Employees have the opportunity to save in a Health Savings Account if a Bayer Health and Savings Plan is elected.
If you are at age 55 or older on your last day worked with at least 10 continuous years of service earned after age 40 on your termination date, you and your eligible dependents may be eligible for access to retiree medical coverage (you pay 100% of the cost). You may also be eligible for a Retiree Medical Account (RMA). If eligible, Bayer will credit you $1,500 for each full year of Bayer U.S. service after age 40 or your hire date, whichever is later.
To meet your specific dental needs, there are different levels of dental coverage benefits available, including orthodontia.
For your vision needs, we offer a voluntary vision program that provides coverage for exams, lenses and frames.
In the event you become unable to work due to illness or injury, we offer short- and long-term disability benefits.
Each medical plan includes coverage for prescription drugs. Some plans provide full reimbursement for any Bayer drugs prescribed for you or your covered dependents by your doctor.
For out-of-pocket health expenses or for day care expenses, you can utilize Health Care or Day Care Spending Accounts with savings of pre-tax dollars.
The Plan offers some important advantages to help you save for the future. If you save through the Plan, you receive a matching contribution from the company. In addition, the company may make retirement contributions to the Plan on your behalf. You also direct how to invest the money in your account.
You will have the opportunity to participate in the Bayer Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP). The ESPP allows you to use a simple payroll deduction process to purchase Bayer AG American Depository Shares (ADSs) at a 15% discount.
