Vegetable R&D Intern
Position: Major Tasks
• The intern will work with cross-disciplinary teams from Veg R&D and Enterprise IT to understand the geospatial data layer and sensor data quality integrity, ingest multi-dimensional data layers, execute data QAQC process.
• The intern will work on the algorithm development of for harmonizing across multi-dimensional geospatial layers, including satellite imagery, environmental layers, and in-field sensor data.
• The intern will drive the data analytics and geospatial model development for vegetable phenology prediction, such as growth stage and harvest timing prediction.
• The intern is responsible to communicate the pro ect status, timeline, deliverables and provide timely pro ect updates.
•The intern will construct the pro ect documentation, and do code review and version control with a group of data scientists.
• The intern will work with his/her mentor to deliver the final results and present the work at the end of the internship and communicate the next step.
Position: Skills
• Holds a BS and is working toward an advanced degree (MS or PhD) in at least one of the following areas: Remote Sensing, Geospatial science, Geography, Machine Learning, Imaging Science.
• Experience with working in a cross-disciplinary team of researchers and communicating complex approaches or analyses to such teams.
• Sufficient experience on Python as the main programming language.
• Sufficient experience in Amazon Web Services or other cloud platforms.
• Highly motivated, self-driven, and team player.
