Site Lead II - Stonington, IL
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Site Lead II, are to:
- Proactively seek and communicate broader business objectives and key messages to their site;
- Provide and receive feedback for development of self and others (direct reports, peers, partner, people leader, etc.);
- Ensure that critical conversations, coaching, and development planning are happening at the site;
- Champion cross-functional (commercial, product supply, other breeding functions, etc., including regionally and globally) inclusion and collaboration;
- Recognize individuals and team accomplishments;
- Motivate and empower the team to take pride and ownership in their processes as well as drive continuous improvement;
- Facilitate a culture of change operations;
- Deliver business objectives defined for the site;
- Prioritize resources such as budget, labor, supplies, etc.;
- Meet hse (health / safety / environment), regulatory, and corporate policy requirements for the site to ensure Freedom To Operate (FTO);
- Create a culture of safety, quality, and compliance;
- Ensure alignment of cross functional expectations;
- Develop, track, and keep team apprised of site and organizational metrics;
- Serve as a role model for others to follow when complying with our company's life (leadership, integrity, flexibility, efficiency) principles and policies;
- Delegate operational leadership and responsibilities as well as ensure accountability;
- Drive continuous improvement at the site and regularly share key findings and opportunities with other sites;
- Ensure all site members are trained on standard work processes and tools and establish key contacts for accountability and follow up;
- Acquire and maintain facilities and equipment for effective and efficient functioning of all programs;
- Drive the vision and goals of the site to align with the Bayer strategy;
- Own and maintain contingency plan(s) for their site;
- Forecast and own all aspects of budgeting and capital aligning with site s long range plan;
- Identify and build a talent pipeline for your site;
- Understand personnel outside of function and/or externally to include them in talent planning;
- Influence other functions/divisions talent planning;
- Ensure site delivers on all community engagement objectives while also seek ways to grow on this initiative regionally;
- Be actively involved with "telling our story" (social media, community events, media, etc.) As well as acting as an ambassador of Bayer;
- Actively build industry relations and member of local agriculture groups.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work-related experience or Master's degree with a minimum of eight years of relevant work-related experience or a Ph.D. with a minimum of four years of relevant work-related experience;
- A minimum of four years of demonstrated people leadership experience with seasonal workers and/or full-time employees or managing a team of employees through project management experience;
- Strong decision-making, prioritization, and problem solving skills;
- Demonstrate flexibility in an agile work environment;
- Strong computer skills related to data acquisition, organization, and analysis;
- Excellent communication and influencing skills;
- Broad knowledge of crop production and farming practices;
- Good working knowledge of research operations and ability to interpret / interact with large data sets;
- Proven ability to help multiple stakeholders understand and advocate for modern agriculture;
- Valid Driver’s License. Driving record (MVR) will be reviewed and must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers.
Domestic Relocation may be available for this position.
