Senior Production Supervisor 1st shift
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Production Supervisor, are to:
- Ensures all Bayer HR policies and procedures are followed and completed in a timely manner;
- Supervise shift staff of up to 120 employees in the plant across multiple disciplines including manufacturing personnel and supervisors, maintenance technicians, sterilization technicians and warehouse personnel;
- Develop, communicate, and manage objectives to team members;
- Proactively communicate relevant information and needs to department leads and organization;
- Lead and manage all processing activities on assigned shift within the manufacturing plant;
- Accountable for meeting standards within the manufacturing plant with regards to safety, quality, productivity, and delivery;
- Practice, encourage, and reinforce safe, healthy, and environmentally sound behaviors in a team environment;
- Responsible for ensuring the work environment is conducive to employee health and safety;
- Establish, implement, and support systems that create and maintain standard operating procedures for production operations;
- Maintain working knowledge of all manufacturing processes, equipment, developments, and best practices;
- Promote lean manufacturing culture and drive lean process improvements within manufacturing areas that will improve quality, productivity and reduce operating costs over time;
- Responsible for training, setting daily work schedules, providing guidance, counseling on performance feedback, initiating and assisting with corrective action;
- Responsible for compliance to Bayer’s Quality System and Quality System Regulations/ISO standards within Sterile Disposables Manufacturing areas;
- Establish relationships across functional areas and formal communication methods to ensure improvement needs are prioritized and addressed in a timely manner;
- Create an environment which recognizes and supports continuous improvement;
- Prepare timely reports for distribution to internal customers; maintain accurate records and files;
- Provide developmental assistance to line employees with the ability to guide complex corrective action and development activities;
- Coordinate training of direct reports and cross-functional teams;
- Effective project management skills while concurrently executing daily activities;
- Responsible for the execution of continuous improvement initiatives;
- Participate in strategic planning to meet plant wide safety, quality, delivery, and cost KPIs;
- Proactively seek opportunities to develop on shift talent;
- Implement best practices across shifts;
- Understand when to escalate issues, and utilizes the proper channels;
- Proficient communicating upward and downward;
- Develop and maintain high trust relationships with all staff by consistently adhering to Bayer LIFE values;
- Mentor less experienced production leadership employees;
- Active member on various problem-solving teams working collaboratively to determine corrective and preventative actions for quality non-conformances, equipment issues, operational efficiency improvements, etc.

Required qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree;
- Five years overall experience demonstrating strong leadership competencies, with a blend of manufacturing/production management and quality assurance/regulatory requirements;
- Environmental, Health and Safety experience;
- Experience with self-directed work teams processes, high-level interpersonal skills;
- Knowledge of effective and efficient production and manufacturing methods, which fuel the incumbent’s ability to influence the organization to evolve their processes and advance capabilities;
- Passion for leading, developing and coaching;
- Personally interested in continuing to grow and build personal skills;
- Effective written and oral communication skills, with an ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders;
- Strong MS Office application knowledge;
- Leans into problem solving activities to identify the root cause and implement a sustainable solution, with engaging others in the process.
Preferred qualifications:
- Education: Technical Degree;
- Medical manufacturing as well as QSR/ISO experience;
- Manufacturing/Industrial, quality engineering, or maintenance engineering experience;
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of manufacturing of medical device products.
