Senior Engineer Process Control Technology
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Engineer Process Control Technology, are to:
- Develop process control strategies and alarm and information management;
- Review and approve Process Control Technology (PCT) requirements and develop documentation for PCT;
- Collaborate with project teams to analyze and define PCT requirements and to perform or supervise actual configuration and testing of control systems;
- Participate in all preliminary and process safety reviews with particular emphasis on PCT systems and equipment, interlocking, alarming, safety systems, etc.;
- Direct small number of designers, contractors, vendors, and technicians from conceptual design through construction and commissioning of PCT systems on projects with mid-level complexity;
- Generate all hardware and software documentation required to procure, configure, test, install and maintain the PCT systems;
- Partner with other engineering disciplines, designers, operations, and maintenance personnel as necessary to achieve project objectives;
- Be responsible for cost and schedule within assigned area of responsibility with a scope for capital projects that are less than 5mil euro.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least six years;
- Master’s degree and at least four years;
- Ph.D. and at least two years;
- Professional registration and/or certification as appropriate;
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university (or equivalent) in Electrical, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Architecture, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Information Systems engineering with a focus in control systems and instrumentation;
- Experience in chemical, or industrial facilities in Process Control Technology design and engineering or equivalent experience;
- Excellent knowledge of PCT documentation, automation validation, quality assurance, etc.;
- Excellent knowledge of process control strategies and systems;
- Excellent knowledge of building automation and safety systems and industrial control networks;
- Strong computer hardware and software skills;
- Excellent knowledge of relevant national and international standards in the area of process control, low voltage electrical, and instrumentation;
- Demonstrated project control skills including project planning, scheduling, cost control, and contract development in the PCT discipline;
- Experience in providing field support and participating in check out, commissioning, and start-up of process control installations;
- Systematic approach to problem definition and solution development;
- Ability to work as a member of cross-functional teams and to participate in multiple projects simultaneously;
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to deal with people at different levels of management, engineering, and design, and with internal customers (e.g., engineering, maintenance, operations) and suppliers of PCT material and services;
- Excellent verbal and written skills in order to communicate with and obtain cooperation from team members involved with engineering, design, check out, commissioning and start-up;
- Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive technical and scope documents required for project execution;
- Business-proficiency of oral and written English language;
- Willingness and availability to travel 20 - 50% depending on project or business needs
- General understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements and responsibilities.
