YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Electrical & Industrial Project Engineer, are to: 

 

  • Provide electrical engineering detailed design and project management to capital projects, from project initiation through completion;
  • Responsible for moderate project complexity and moderate project load;
  • Develop accurate project cost estimates, identify cost savings, and provide updates to management;
  • Lead project reviews and assure thorough action item follow up;
  • Develop clear and concise appropriation requests, communicating and presenting background and justification;
  • Select appropriate vendors, soliciting bids with Purchasing;
  • Assist Construction Field Coordinators with project implementation requirements;
  • Visit job sites to review work activities, safety, and construction;
  • Accurately document project files and closure information in a timely manner;
  • Ensure systems and equipment are designed and installed in accordance with Bayer and regulatory standards with life cycle cost considered;
  • Provide input and engineering assistance to site personnel to facilitate application of plant and corporate standards, safety procedures, and other regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of four years of work experience preferably in a plant operation function;
  • Master of Science with two years engineering experience;
  • Strong commitment to safety;
  • Demonstrated creativity, innovation, and ingenuity;
  • Self-motivated;
  • Results driven;
  • Perpetual drive towards learning, developing, growing, and improving;
  • Solid communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Strong ethics;
  • Ability to work alone and as a team player;
  • Must be able to perform work in a manufacturing plant environment, including ascending/descending stairs and ladders;
  • Computer proficiency in Windows based programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook);
  • General knowledge of batch and / or continuous process operations;
  • Understand and utilize National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and National Electrical Code (NEC) Standards;
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills;
