Agronomic Research Specialist II (Harvest)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Agronomic Research Specialist II (Harvest), are to:
- Be responsible for Delivering the highest quality greenhouse data as part of North America’s Plant Breeding R&D pipeline by providing optimal greenhouse nursery management, at times working on an internal R&D effort that spans across crops, sites, and a region;
- Be independently responsible for the implementation of unique and innovative technology solutions designed to improve research design and operations success through the use of new tools and methodologies to improve overall greenhouse plant breeding, phenotyping such and data capture applications;
- Collaborate with project team members to deliver detailed experimental protocols that enable advancement decisions by our scientists and placement decisions to our customers;
- Operate automated research equipment, note taking, data management with internal IT/SW systems, comply with regulated seed stewardship standards, complete and/or participate in safety inspections/training and comply with all policies and standard operating procedures;
- Have ability to work extended hours during peak seasons (including non-traditional day-time hours, weekends, and holidays);
- Up to 15% domestic travel as needed;
- Provide daily direction to contingent labor team of up to 10 individuals.

Required Qualifications:
- Highschool diploma or GED with 10 years relevant experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree with at least two years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree with minimal years of relevant experience;
- Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team-based environment;
- Experience with standard Microsoft Office computer and/or software systems used in scientific data analysis, with ability to quickly learn new software programs and tools;
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs.;
- Ability to work extended hours during peak operational seasons.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Agronomy, Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field;
- Knowledge and experience with agricultural equipment and row crop production practices and history of leveraging that knowledge in a research environment;
- Capable maintaining large data sets;
- Ability to obtain pesticide applicator license;
- Experience with automated and/or mechanical systems;
- Ability to obtain UAV license (desired) for operating drones.
Domestic relocation may be provided for this role.
