Sourcing Manager Procurement Projects US

Your tasks and responsibilities

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Sourcing Manager Procurement Projects US, are to:

 

  • Develop and/or implement sourcing strategies and initiatives for his/her projects, ensuring alignment, compliance with Procurement guideline, as well as other internal/external process standards and delivery of required business performance;
  • Plan and execute Sourcing events and reduce external spend through competitive bidding and document all cost reduction and profit plan improvements using also eSourcing support or other innovative techniques/methodologies’;
  • Determine the best way to buy, prepare and /lead supplier negotiations, award suppliers and conduct post negotiation debriefs. Manage the reduction of non-traditional and/or "Maverick" spend and insure compliance with Bayer directives and policies;
  • Manage supply agreements & contracts and control project spend;
  • Monitor and control contractual agreements and clauses in spend category over entire lifecycle and minimize exposure to contractual risks in external relationships through usage of terms and conditions aligned with legal function and acceptable to suppliers to ensure compliance with policies;
  • Manage supplier relationships and implement supplier management principles in supply base, build relationships and improve supplier performance;
  • Incorporate company’s responsibility and commitment to sustainable business practices into category supplier relationships and ensure compliance through reports, audits and improvement plans;
  • Reduce complexity of transactional purchasing activities related to project procurement;
  • Perform and drive project purchases towards maximum throughout and minimal error rates. Drive automation and continuous optimization in sourcing and procurement.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • 10 years of professional business experience or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Legal contract language comprehension;
  • Results orientated;
  • Strong negotiation skills;
  • Strong leadership skills;
  • Team-oriented leadership skills honed through experience with Senior Management;
  • Demonstrated analytic and decision making skills;
  • High proficiency level in English;
  • Solid category/SME knowledge of the Capital Projects / Facility and/or Engineering services;
  • Good understanding of business needs & challenges;
  • Ability to analyze project risks and develop mitigating strategies and options;
  • Excellent communication and messaging skills with the ability to collaborate and build long-term partnerships;
  • Manage dynamic project environment and schedule commitments.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s Degree;
  • Relevant Capital Project Procurement experience (>$10MM project size) or related category subject matter expert (SME);
  • Maintenance, Repair and Operating supply (MRO) knowledge;
  • Bilingual.
