Senior Manager, Marketing Communications

Your tasks and responsibilities

 

The Senior Manager leads and acts as the process Owner for the Bayer Consumer Health (BCH) Promotional Materials Review and Approval Process for US Consumer Health including all associated directives and operating instructions.  This position is a valued partner with the Legal, Medical, Regulatory and Business functions and seeks to foster the constructive collaboration necessary to push new claims, messages and the compliant use of new communication channels and platforms.

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Manager, Marketing Communications, are to: 

  • Liaise across all functions of the organization including, but not limited to Legal, Medical, Regulatory, and Brand Teams to prioritize reviews of promotional materials and ensure quality materials are released from Bayer;
  • Establish collaborative relationships with Marketing and LMR colleagues through frequent communications and interaction to understand needs and optimize effectiveness to support the organization;
  • Partner with Brand Teams at early stages of strategic planning to discuss campaign strategies and promotional platforms (including social media and ecommerce);
  • Coordinate and execute actions proposed by LMR and Brand Team leads as related to the LMR process;
  • Track and report on key LMR metrics ensure delivery of goals related to efficient and timely approval of marketing materials essential to drive meet our brand and business goals;
  • Ensures the Consumer Health organization adheres to all LMR SOP compliance requirements including ensuring the availability of appropriate system training and onboarding;
  • Manage the promotional review workflow utilizing an electronic cloud-based system (Veeva Vault).  Subject matter expert for the system and all planning and prioritizing to ensure proper use of the process and the system;
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance Veeva Vault (LMR system) for increased process efficiencies;
  • Update and maintain an audit and compliance ready Veeva Vault onboarding and off boarding spreadsheet for both Project Owner and reviewer/approver access;
  • Lead and manage a team of 2 direct reports to ensure Marketing materials flow into the LMR process and release in a timely manner (~4,000 jobs per year);
  • Responsible for leading the identification and resolution of needed LMR process improvement within US Consumer Health including influencing the alignment of all Commercial Functional Leaders;
  • Serve as one point of contact for corporate audits and action remediation;
  • Provide day to day oversight of LMR operations, including but not limited to; Veeva Vault training and enhancements, LMR SOP development, training and compliance;
  • Direct responsibility for LMR for select brands based upon business needs.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience;
  • Proficiency in working in white space and developing solutions with little or no information;
  • Extensive knowledge of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and/or Consumer Health Industry;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to be agile across a matrixed organization
  • Understanding of adult learning principles;
  • Ability to work collaboratively across Consumer Health functions and Bayer divisions;
  • Ability to influence leadership to gain alignment on recommendations;
  • Working knowledge of Bayer Businesses.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Master of Business Administration;
  • Knowledge of Veeva Vault, Aprimo or other communication approval workflow systems preferred
  • HQ CPG experience;
  • Project management experience, minimum of 2 years;
  • Process development experience, minimum of 2 years;
  • Management of 3rd party vendors/consultants, minimum of 2 years;
  • Training development experience, minimum of 2 years;
  • LMR/Copy Review process experience.
